Sestdienas, 6. decembra, rītā lasītājs portālam ziņoja, ka rosība notiek Liepājas promenādē. Tur nogrimis Liepājas uzņēmēja, mūziķa un kādreizējā Liepājas domes deputāta Stēna Lorensa, kurš labāk pazīstams kā Luijs Fonteins, kuģis.

L. Fonteins zvejas kuģi nopirka maijā. Toreiz uzņēmējs aģentūrai LETA apstiprināja, ka Dānijā veicis šādu pirkumu. Aptuvenā pirkuma summa bija virs 1000 eiro.

Pagājušā gadsimta 40.gadu sākumā būvētais kuģis "Spurn" bija pietauvots Liepājas Tirdzniecības kanālā pie tramvaja tilta.

Videi nodarīto kaitējumu novērtēja arī Valsts vides dienesta Liepājas reģionālās pārvaldes inspektori. VVD Liepājas reģionālās pārvaldes vadītāja Ingrīda Sotņikova atzina, ka konstatētais piesārņojums nav liels un pauda cerību, ka izdosies kuģi izcelt un kanālā nenonāks kuģa tilpnēs esošā degviela. Jebkurā gadījumā tiks uzsākta administratīvā pārkāpuma lietvedība, kuras laikā tiks izvērtēts kaitējums videi un lemts par soda piemērošanu kuģa īpašniekam.

Kuģis "Spurn" būvēts kā zvejas kuģis pagājušā gadsimta četrdesmitajos gados Dānijā.

Vismaz pēdējos desmit gadus tas kuģošanai nav izmantots.

Šā gada maijā kuģi iegādājās uzņēmējs Luijs Fonteins, kurš to atdzina uz Liepājas ostu un plānoja pārveidot to par izklaides kuģi.

Kuģis "Spurn" joprojām atrodas Dānijas kuģu reģistrā.

Latvijā kuģim ir uzlikts kuģošanas liegums, kas saistīts ar tehnisko stāvokli un aprīkojumu.

Arī Stēns Lorenss portālam atsūtījis savu skaidrojumu par notikušo angļu valodā. To nerediģētā veidā publicējam šeit:

a) The ship is allowed to sail, all safety is on board.
b) And it has been sailing until this day not standing still for 10 years.
c) Spurn has not been a commercial fishing boat since 2005, but served as a pleasure/ diving boat going to Norway from Denmark 2-3 times a year.
d) I sailed it from DK to LV in May 2014
e) I don't know were she get the info from??, it's not right to put facts it in the news when you don't know them. It is an accident, so hold back with the guessing of facts please, before you have got your info corrected please a little respect, i just lost my boat, and now I'm a criminal as well. hope for your understanding.

FURTHER

The papers have been in order since day 1 , Lieapaja port captain has agreed on that as well, and other authorities to, and we can sail when ever we want to ,and have been during until we started repairs 2 3 month ago.
Problem was a border guard believed otherwise and guess that's were the pirate stories starts.
When you buy a ship it takes up till 90 days to get the the new papers send to you in original form it's standard way. Meanwhile you can sail using the sales contract , and print out from DK ship registre ,the ship is still regristrated in this period, you just change ownership. The border guards seemed to have little experience with ships under another flag ,and even told me ,it had to be regristrated in Latvia , which is not true at all, you can have a Spanish flag, South African flag and have home town in Liepaja on the pleasure ship Spurn if you which to.

2) Border guards wanted to put me in prison for 3 days after they stopped me the day after i arrived to Liepaja, they asked for the papers ,which i showed them the day before, and they approved, i told them they were in the office since my book keeper needed a copy (i just came in 12 hrs before), i said i will get them ,it's for them 100 m away , after saying it to them 5-6 times and still did not listing ,i told him he was a monkey, and left to get the papers ,cause he would not listing anyway he just wanted to make trouble.
The case was in court Tuesday 2th Dec , now i don't have to go to prison anymore, and i still think he is a monkey.
I was actually helping a film crew making a movie on the new concert hall Dzintars , and was just sailing in the canal were they filmed some musicians playing, while going through the Liepaja port, so i got punished for during something good for the city.

Also i they fined me for not having any life jackets , life boat, fire rockets, navigation and many other things , which they never asked to see so therefore can not know, i have it all, and new as a matter fact, i got even 2 life boats , by law you don't even have to have a lifeboat for this boat it's a pleasure boat.
All the time the border guard tend to think it is a commercial boat, probably because they never seen one like this before. I wrote them back that i had all they asked for they ignored that fact and fined me anyway.

Later on during summer sound festival 2014 ,i went out of the port and this time 1 got arrested and taking in full public by 10 -15 heavy armed police to drug test in put venie like in Hollywood movie, even after having taking a alcohol test showing 0, ,and all this right in front of my kids very nice, it was done in a rude way and seemed well planned
I was going without license, it was the only thing i did wrong i admit , in DK we can do that in this kind of size pleassure boat , my mistake.

Who ever is saying that the boat is not legal and don't have any papers , don't know anything about that (papers attached), it's just guessing, and wrong to write without asking the owner.

I haven't exactly been treated extremely nice , regarding this boat that's for sure, but i guess when the Vikings came the first time, they also got treated bad, until they got friends, which apparently is not yet the situation for me, after living here for 15 years and coming here first time 20 years ago.

Technical shape of the ship is not bad ,during the last 2-3 month we have changed everything from automatic water pumps 3 pieces + 1 extra, 3 emergency hand pumps , engine check up, new electrical installation and much more. Next step was to go Pavilosta and take the ship out of the water and fix the outside.
The ship did not take in any water , almost nothing and is not in bad shape, maybe not looking good but absolutely OK.
We still don't know why Spurn sunk, could be due to frost and then on freezing today ? , the ship has a damage from last winter , but that was fixed, and looked OK it could be that ?, or it could be that the pumps were frozen, or not turned on ?. We will know tomorrow when we hopefully have the ship back floating.
I'm very sad this has happened i love that ship, but do not feel ,i done something wrong, nor irresponsible.

Regarding oil Leak there is very little, almost nothing ,maybe to people it looks like a lot but it's not ,but we are talking drops, and looks like it will stay that way. The ship was cleaned by Liepaja Udens truck ,2 weeks for spill oil , so it was empty and clean in the engine room, and the diesel tanks are sealed.
